The lobby of this classically modern building, completed in 1968, has a monolithic quality, composed of strong simple planes and volumes. Renovations left layers of applied decoration in various styles. Our enhancements include a twenty-foot-high glass mosaic wall, durable finishes with minimalist bronze detailing, energy efficient lighting and dimming controls, a built-in stone and bronze console table and mirror, and modernist furnishings with a custom coffee table. Restorations have been made to the existing metal canopy, slate floors, brick, plaster and bronze elements. A new, larger concierge desk houses updated equipment in a form that harmonizes with the original materials and detailing of the lobby. Re-organized storage, security and communication systems streamline the manner in which residents are accommodated.
